YouTube Playlists

In order to aid navigation, videos are organized into a logical set of PLAYLISTS. Once on the channel, select the Playlists button or use this link: Playlists Note: Some videos may appear on multiple playlists. Below are a list of the playlists (subject to change):

PLAYLISTS (click on title to view on YouTube)
Shorts – JRB’s YouTube “Shorts” videos, which are 60 seconds or less. Look for more in the future.
General Info – Information applicable to potentially any Saddle Hunter.
Knots and Knot Tying – Contains the various knot tying videos. Only the JRB Hitch and JRB Ascender Hitch have a dedicated, separate playlist.
Lifeline/Tether & Rappel Systems – Applicable to potentially any saddle hunter.
Rope Rigging – This playlist was added to organize all of the videos related to throwball use, JRB End Loops and Rope Rigging Scenarios, which could be common to different climbing techniques.
Safety, Recovery & Self Rescue – Take time to consider what can go wrong and how to recover.
JRB Universal System – For those who prefer not to tie knots at the tree, this system has all the knots pre-tied allowing the user to climb using different methods: DSRT, Hitch Climbing or SRT. If JRB could only carry one system with me on a hunting trip, this would be the system.
JRB DSRT – JRB’s original Doubled Stationary Rope Technique (originally called the JRB Climbing Method) which was the motivation for the creation of the channel.
JRB SRT (Non Mechanical) – In this playlist, JRB addresses a set of evolving scenarios demonstrating non-mechanical systems applied in Single Rope Technique (SRT).
JRB Hitch Climbing – an original climbing method; no throwball involved.
JRB Ascender Hitch – an original friction hitch. Playlist captures the evolution and variations. See the Knot Tying Playlist for recommended versions.
JRB Hitch – An original knot, an exploding, quick release hitch with so many applications. Playlist captures the evolution and variations. See the Knot Tying Playlist for the recommended version.
Testing – Various tests conducted by JRB on designs, some of which were prescribed by members of the IGKT during the process of reviewing a new knot.

Finding a known video

The quickest way to find a video you have seen before is to search for it from YouTube. Use JRB and other keywords in your search. For example:

  1. Enter “JRB Munter” if you are looking for a video on the Munter
  2. Enter “JRB Scaffold” for a video on scaffold knot.
  3. Enter “JRB 523” for a video on the 523 JRB Ascender Hitch
  4. Enter “JRB SRT Scenario 3” if you remember the SRT scenario number of interest

The Bookmark Video

The “Bookmark” video appears in a Playlist in order to separate the newest information (at the top) from the older and historical information below it.
