The Maverick Pole, upgraded in 2025, is a collapsible 4-section pole, and used to set a rope anchor in a tree at a point above us. It can be used with numerous climbing techniques, including stick climbing, and “one stick” climbing.

Precautions
- Avoid using the Maverick Pole to pull down an anchor. This can cause the sections to come apart.
- If it comes apart, the collar between the sections can be tightened with an Allen Wrench (what size?)
- If the Maverick Pole is used in wet and freezing conditions, moisture inside of the clamps can cause it to become frozen and not moveable. Be sure to extend and dry it fully indoors in such conditions.

The introductory video shows how the Maverick Pole is used with either the Maverick Hitch or the JRB Cinch. Since then, other anchors have been added to the collection. This original pole was discontinued with the release of the new version. It was a 3-section pole, 30.75″ to 75″ in length, one pound and a thinner bent steel hook.
